About
While Mark Wade has played music since the age of seven, his professional music career began when he started playing upright bass for the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra at age 16. Following high school, he studied bass performance at Music Tech in Minneapolis.
Mark has been the bassist for indie power-pop band The Melismatics for over 20 years. The Melismatics have released seven albums, toured across the United States, as well as internationally, and played many music festivals including Lollapalooza, Summerfest, SXSW, and NXNE. Additionally, he has toured with several other music projects in the United States, Japan, and the UAE.
Mark has taught private music lessons in bass guitar, upright bass, guitar, and ukulele for more than 20 years. He welcomes all learning styles and focuses on keeping lessons fun and positive. He caters lessons to each student's goals, which might include reading, ear training, composition, theory, or just having fun learning new songs or techniques. Offering in-studio and online lessons.
